Analysis of media issues, politics and current events.
I want angry…(currently) Newt Gingrich
Gingrich has taken the mantle from Herman Cain as the “boot up your ass” candidate. His past support for policies that would call him out as a moderate if not liberal by today GOP standards means nothing and he will be bulletproof to such accusations as long as he delivers was some GOP primary voters want. Someone mad as hell and nearly promises to punch the current president upon his first day in office -if not sooner. Essentially he’s the revenge candidate.
I want honest…Ron Paul
Whatever you think about Ron Paul, his sincerity of his belief is a breath of fresh air in the highly crowd pandering world of politics. He stands out to many people who hold their nose at the B.S. of the other presidential contenders. Plus, even thought I personally don’t agree in leaving EVERYTHING up to the free market, Ron Paul did call out a lot of problem we are now facing a long time ago. Then again, a prophet in his own time is seldom appreciated.
I want to win…Mitt Romney
Poor Mitt Romney. Smart. Successful. Delivers custom, nuanced decisions more often than bumper sticker policy statements. Sexy and assuring for the general electorate. And the best path for winning the general election. But for some GOP voters. Tough and angry is platform. And for some the only platform required. And for a guy that makes the dad from Leave it To Beaver look like Lil’ Wayne, he just doesn’t have what it takes to win them over. His only chance for winning is if the GOP primary voters discover pragmatism in the next 20 days.
