Apparently there’s a crazy-off this week as politicians are vying to see if can say something crazier than Ted Akin. Sheriffs seem to be taking the lead on this.
Rep. Steve King issued a warning to Iowa’s college students: Stay away from multicultural organizations because because they are actually just “people that feel sorry for themselves,” and therefore are a form of the proletariat that want to “overthrow the establishment.”
Frank Szabo, county sheriff candidate in New Hampshire, said that as sheriff, he would arrest any doctor performing elective or late-term abortions in his jurisdiction. And use deadly force if necessary to stop it.
Texas Judge defends proposed property tax increase to expand the Sheriff’s Office and raise prosecutors’ pay by saying they need to money to stop to uprising that will break out if President Obama is re-elected. Judge Tom Head:
“He’s going to try to hand over the sovereignty of the United States to the U.N., and what is going to happen when that happens?” Head asked.
“I’m thinking the worst. Civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war maybe. And we’re not just talking a few riots here and demonstrations, we’re talking Lexington” Head said.
Faced with the obvious backlash, the judge posts a YouTube video to re-explain the cost. The short of it: “Aw shucks, I’m just thinking of public safety with an overabundance of caution.”
