A former Fox news employee explains the dynamics and tensions within the Fox News operation. 1) that the stories are not collectively ideologically driven but more the people who runs shows at Fox are hyper aware of ideological boundaries enforced by “na, na, na” phone calls from executives to show producers. 2) Bill O’Reilly is an amazing writer and is more pro-himself that ideology protector. And 3) boy, does he hate Sean Hannity.

Why GOP Scandal Mongers Can’t Have Nice Things
This is a good overview on the current weakness of conservative-leaning news outlets that frequently watch “scoops” blow up in their faces. The tendency to want to create a scandal by exaggerating facts more than just letting it happen. The result is often losing the real scandal baby as it gets thrown out with the news organization credibility bathwater.

In another example off odd racism defenses, Virginia school board member Herb DeGroft defends two emails he passed on, one that included a picture with bare-breasted, African female warriors with the caption “Michelle Obama’s high school reunion.” saying they were meant to be “political” and not racist. For the record, it is racist when you forward racist emails because you think they are funny.
