Several claims that host Rachel Maddow made about Wisconsin and its fiscal situation on her show The Rachel Maddow Show have been called out as false by PolitiFact, a fact checking organization.  Mostly her claims about the financial stability of the state — including a claim that Wisconsin has a budget surplus. I’m guessing it wasn’t an intentionally misleading error, but does seem somebody fact checking over at MSNBC didn’t do the work to get their facts straight. Especially before having the host give a lecture about parts of this crisis in Wisconsin being manufactured.  Maddow coverage and mistakes will likely be used by those siding with the governor that those supporting the union protests don’t have their facts straight about the budget battle -true or not.
