Analysis of media issues, politics and current events.
Election over, the GOP finds itself the midst of being woefully out of alignment with the ascendancy of different demographics and evolving views on social issues and government. So much, the GOP, a high concentrate of white, rural and southern males, is in very real danger of becoming a regional party–if it isn’t already. THAT CANNOT HAPPEN.
I want, no I need, the GOP to remain strong (just not batsh*t crazy). In fact, America needs the GOP to be strong and credible threat to serve a similar role as natural selection in the wild (Darwin ironically one of the things the GOP is “not sure” about). Having the GOP go the way of the Whig Party would be, for the Democrats, like a species having their natural predator die. Without a force to keep their numbers down, the surviving species becomes rampant to the point of nuisance. If that happens, our political system goes way off balance. Power concentrates with one party too long and power corrupts very similar to the Democratic Party in the 70s when Republicans were almost foreign to holding the levers of power.
