Why is Twitter cutting off ties and interoperability with other social networks? Now it’s Facebook’s recently purchased Instagram. But if you’re like me, you’ve helplessly watched as Twitter no longer works seamlessly with LinkedIn, some components of Hootsuite and even your own WordPress site.
Analysis: Twitter and companies like it (I’m looking at you, Facebook) are set up as a business model where their interests are not matched with or supportive of the interest of their users (like seamless cross platform operability across other social networks). In fact, Twitter and Facebook are in direct opposition to their customer goals because of each platform’s desire to keep the customer’s data and content in it’s own ecosystem to mine and exploit.
